Friends & Worms

Our friends Sarah Carroll, Louise Harter & little dog Harmony came for a visit on New Year's Day. (Sarah & I became good pals in pottery school years ago). Lucky for us they got snowed in and stayed overnight. Sarah & Louise live in CT and had never met Sam, so it was an exciting introduction. Sam was in top form and gave the girls a good show!

Yes, it's true, Kevin now holds the dubious distinction of being a worm farmer! In order to continue our composting through the winter Kevin set up a little vermiculture bin in our basement. Here Sam watches as Kevin introduces a box of worms to their new home. Check back with us this spring for some rich soil for your garden!

We also caught up with our good friend Matt Klick recently. Matt is in grad school in Fairbanks, Alaska, and was home in Maine to see his family. Kevin was thrilled to have a work out buddy for a few days, and Sam is looking forward to future such adventures.

New Year's Eve

We rang in the New Year with some Dickinson friends in Providence. Our friends the Wemples hosted the gang of 10 adults and 6 kids. It went by too quickly, but we were glad to get a glimpse of everyone's growing families and catch up a bit.

Kevin and his buddies enjoyed the requisite jam session. Amazingly none of the kids woke up!

Luckily our friend Guybe came with his wide angle lense and was able to snap a shot of the whole group,...

...and the Dickinson offspring (left to right): Greta, Silas, Sam, Eliot, Stuart, Reid.

Christmas 2007

Christmas morning at 40 Bowker St.

Taking his gifts for a spin.

Aunt Kristin & Uncle Bobby gave the boys some art supplies for Chirstmas. Here Sam & Gordie have a little drawing session at Mormor & Cappy's house. (This turned out to be a fantastic distraction while the rest of us opened gifts!)

Between Christmas and the New Year we spent a couple of days at the Cashmans in Bedford, MA. Here I am with Sam and our very sweet niece, Ava.

Sam has a snuggle with Auntie Lolo and Uncle Jim.

It's always good to have a young, strapping uncle on hand. Sam couldn't get enough of "Uncle Wiiilly"!
